MECA Swindon is one of the town’s most versatile large-scale venues, offering a bold, flexible setting for live music, events and screen productions. With multiple adaptable spaces under one roof, MECA can double as a nightclub, concert hall, roller-skate disco, bingo venue or awards space, making it well suited to a wide range of filming needs. Its industrial interiors, high ceilings and built-in lighting and sound infrastructure create a ready-made atmosphere for high-energy scenes, crowd sequences and live-performance shoots. Centrally located with strong access and production-ready facilities, MECA offers a practical, high-impact option for screen projects of all scales.

MECA originally opened as The Regent Theatre in 1929 the Art Deco style building has seen many transformations over the years. In 1952 it was taken over by the Gaumont Theatre. . . and then changed again in 1963 to the Odeon. It was later transformed into a bingo hall, which after 30 years, as MECCA bingo, the had a redesign in 2010 as MECA.
